About Us

KNF Engineering is operated by Kyle Franzen, PE and is a single person consulting business working primarily within the residential and small commercial market sectors.  The business began in 2005 and is based in Northern Virginia and serves clients in Virginia, Maryland, and DC.

Kyle earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from The University of South Florida in 1999 and a Master of Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 2001.

Before starting KNF Engineering, Kyle gained experience as a CAD Draftsman (MDM Engineering, Lakeland, FL), a Pre-Engineered Metal Building designer (Uni-Bilt Systems, Tampa, FL), a structural engineering intern (URS Corporation, Tampa, FL), and finally as a Project Engineer / Project Manager (Cates Engineering, Centreville, VA).
